DOH!!!

OK, the dumbass in the right lane cut into the left lane and stopped to turn left. The 3 cars ahead of me stopped, and I stopped, but the car behind me stopped only after sandwiching me between it and the car ahead of me... bucked me up in the air, I held onto the grips and came back down on the tank bruising my thighs and racking myself pretty neatly (for lack of a more gruesome adverb) Luckily no broken bones and no internal or external bleeding. Here's a few shots taken at the shop after it was towed down there. The pics I took at the scene are all in my phone still...

OUCH!
OUCH AGAIN!

TTF can be hellish...

The last two trips to TTF (Tortilla Flat, AZ) have been educational for sure.

The first trip, Vince (SV650) Chris (R1) and I went up at a decent pace and then on the way back down, hit it a little faster. Lost Chris around the first corner that wrapped around more than 90 degrees. Went off the edge about 10 feet down and Vince behind didn't even see a blink of dust. (even caught it on tape, the nothing that Vince saw that is) Got to the bottom and figured out we were missing a rider. Back up to the top where a gangload of guys were already hoisting Chris' bike up while he sat on the pavement smoking a cigar... Glad not too much pain to be had and the bike made it home on it's own power. Too hot into the corner that never seemed to end...

The next trip, Vince and I rode up together. He had just had some suspension work done and was ready to feel the ride. We did one trip up and back where I led and the next trip I followed Vince. We went around a curve near the top also that had a grade in the first half of it but then the grade flattened out in the middle where Vince's front tire just hit the edge. He slid out and had some small damage but was also able to ride it out to AJ. I got the truck and we hauled it home. Looking at the tires of our bikes, his 60 series tires just ran out of room and my 70 series tire had still 3/4 inch chicken strips! Not enough tire for the curve as it degraded...

Gotta respect the twisties up there! Protective gear is not optional up there anymore IMO! Both Chris and Vince had some beat up pants but happy legs under them. My levi's just would not have had the same protecting effect...

Me and my neice on some rides...

Here are some shots that I found while sorting out my pictures. I thought that I'd share them here so she could see them and hopefully come over sometime soon with her family and get another ride...
